SMEC is looking for an experienced Business Development Coordinator for
its Social Development Group. This is a regular full-time position reports
to the General Manager, SDG and based in Symonston, ACT.
The role will cover assisting in developing business opportunities for
SMEC International in the social sector (disciplines other than engineering)
in international development projects by coordinating the marketing effort
of the Social Development Group.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Strengthen and maintain relationships with SMEC International’s Regional
and Country Managers - through regular communication and contact in order to
gather opportunity and market intelligence and discuss priority prospects;
• Co-ordinate and Manage the preparation of EOI/Proposals:
o prepare budget approvals for obtaining charge numbers to proceed
o arrange proposal meetings
o prepare detailed program of inputs and deadlines
o establish directories on network
o prepare outlines (shells) of submissions
o monitor progress in preparation
o maintain strong relationships with associates/technical writers
o establish contact lists
o co-ordinate production
o arrange lodgment and distribution
o assist in the identification of and sourcing of personnel and re-write of
CVs
o assist in the preparation of Financial Proposals
• Other duties to consider:
o Oversight of the Consultants Database.
o Monitoring and updating of Project Data Sheets.
o Updating and distribution of SDG Marketing Material and SMEC Reviews.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• A Bachelors degree in a related discipline.
• Knowledge of bi and multi-lateral development funding agencies.
• Experience of preparation of EOI, Proposals and Project Management in
Social Development related projects in either consulting, industry or
government.
• Excellent word processing and computer skills (Microsoft Office suite of
programs).
• Excellent personal organisation skills (including prioritising tasks).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiar with quality management systems to ISO 9001.
