Poverty is the greatest problem facing the world today. In economic terms its impact can be measured in billions of dollars annually. In human terms it is unmeasurable. Poverty deprives over a billion people of healthy, productive lives.

Sustainable economic growth and development are key to poverty reduction. However, no simple formula exists to create universal prosperity.
